Fire TV

Get your Fire TV ready.

Start with the model, software and official app availability. A few checks now make the setup more straightforward.

Preparation guide · Prepared 25 October 2026. Check current instructions for your exact device.

1. Find your device details

Open Settings, then My Fire TV (or Device & Software), then About. Record the model and software version. Menu labels can vary by device.

2. Check for updates

Use the device’s update controls and install available system updates. Keep power connected while an update completes.

3. Check the official store

Search the on-device app store for the player you intend to use. Confirm its publisher, compatibility, region availability and any separate fee before installation.

4. Prepare your account

Once support confirms access, enter the account information only into the intended player. Keep private login details out of screenshots and public messages.

If something differs from these steps.

If an app is unavailable, confirm the device model and store region with its publisher. Do not disable device security or install an unknown package to work around a missing app.
