Smart TV

Know your television. Then choose your player.

Brand alone is not enough. Model year, operating system and app-store region can affect what your television supports.

Preparation guide · Prepared 25 October 2026. Check current instructions for your exact device.

1. Find the model number

Check the device information menu or the label on the television. Record the full model number and software version, not just its screen size.

2. Open the built-in app store

Use your television’s own app store. Check the official listing for the intended player and confirm model-year and regional support.

3. Check player terms

Some players require a separate licence. Review its fee and privacy information before connecting an account or purchasing a subscription.

4. Keep your options practical

If your television cannot run a suitable app, ask about compatibility before buying an external streaming device. Do not assume every TV can install the same apps.

If something differs from these steps.

Record whether the problem happens while installing, signing in or playing. These are different stages and can need different checks.
